This is my 101st blogger post. whew, busy!
Post #101 is brought to you courtesy of Esquire's coffee's free wireless (well, the price of a mug of lime tea, actually).
The damp from the rain outside is making its way toward my bones—it might be time to refresh my hot drink. But first I'll cross a few more items off my to-do list: purchase cable internet, health insurance, come up with three stories to write in the coming weeks, stop getting distracted by gorgeous websites like this one (Orla Keily, mmmm).
This morning I put the finishing touches on a eulogy for my grandfather. It's actually a love story, one that he shared with me on our last visit, and one that I want to share some day. The writing of it has been a peculiar experience, mostly because he's still alive. I last saw my grandpa in the hospital at the start of the new year. We were sure he only had another week, so we all had our visits and said our goodbyes. He said he didn't want to die in the middle of winter, that he wanted to hold on 'til spring, but he'd resigned himself to the fact that it probably wouldn't happen. Well he's proven to be as tenacious as ever. Two months he's held on. Maybe we should be happy that he's a month away from him wish, but for me, he's already gone... he/his wife have asked for no more visitors—in his pride he doesn't want any of us to see him falling apart. So writing a eulogy was the only thing to do.

From 'gorgeous' sites to Grandpa...such a big jump! do i, your husband, at least get to read the eulogy? for what it's worth, i think you would make an excellent eugoogleizer ;)
Your first draft was lovely. It brought lots of tears to my eyes. I'm looking forward to reading the finished product. Your Grandpa would be pleased and proud of you. You inherited your writer's heart from him.
i don't even know your grandpa, but would like to read what you wrote about him!
Dianna told me a few stories your grandfather shared with you two and they were amazing. You should write them all down in some sort of collection.
